Archaeological research of the Bilsk settlement 2021-2022

Bilsk settlement is the largest Scythian settlement in Europe, located on the territory of ancient Gelon, which was described by Herodotus. 

This is an extraordinary historical monument, where unique artefacts from the Bronze Age to the Modern Age have been found. 

The collection is dedicated to the famous archaeologist and scientist, associate professor of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Yuri Buynov. Despite the full-scale invasion, our archaeologists did not stop studying the cultural heritage sites of Bilsk for a day. This publication is the fruit of the dedicated work of our archaeologists and scientists for the development of Ukrainian history. We are glad that we can be involved in such an important cause.
